Shake the Tree

SHAKE THE TREE FRONT COVERThink of the leaves on a plant, they start as small bud, taking energy from the plant and grow.  As they grow they catch the light and make their own energy, the bigger they get the more energy they create.  There comes a time when the leaf creates more energy than it needs, at this point it gives back what it has taken, helping the buds and smaller leaves develop.  Eventually the leaf has served its purpose as part of the whole plant, so it is shed and falls to the ground.

Our thoughts, emotions and habits are like that, they start small, taking from us everything they need to develop, giving back as they grow, making our lives flourish and prosper, helping us feel good.  The big difference between us and plants is, that we do not always shed them once they have fulfilled their purpose, we keep them.  So they hang around and can end up doing more harm than good.

What leaves do you need to shed?
